5 Fun Things About the Corduroy Collection
It’s corduroy season – a Fall staple – and perfect for adding color and texture to your wardrobe. Today we bring you some fun things to know about our collection of corduroy skirts and pants.
100% Cotton
We use 100% cotton corduroy for our collection. Corduroy is made from an extra weave of cotton fibers that is cut into vertical lines to create the pile. That imparts its characteristic sheen and soft texture. It is similar to its cousin, velvet in richness and look and more suitable and adaptable for garments.
A versatile fabric for children
Corduroy is often used for children’s clothes as it is both soft and rugged at the same time. It gained popularity in the 1970’s and a 1973 article in the Chicago Tribune said it best, “Why? Because it’s luxurious and functional at the same time. It can look dressed up or dressed down. It holds its shape and is easy to care for. It adapts well to clothing for your entire family. It’s durable—and economical.”
Easy to care for
All our clothes are meant for easy wash and wear and this is no exception. Your corduroy basics can be washed in the machine – we recommend a gently cycle and a cold wash. Tumble dry on low heat and warm iron. Since corduroy can retain lint, wash your pieces separate from lint producing clothes such as fleece and blankets or clean with a lint brush after the wash.
Ideal for a capsule wardrobe
Our range of skirts and culottes are great for a capsule wardrobe. We have a variety of rich colors for the season – navy, burgundy and ultra violet – that pair well with all of our ruffle tops and any knit sweater, tights and boots! The Ultra-Violet skirt also sports Pantone’s color of the year for 2018, a color that Pantone says communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. It’s perfect for young fashionistas who like to stay on trend!
The culottes have pockets!
We think everyone should have pockets – not only grown ups. A pocket for all the treasures! What will your little ones collect?
We hope you love the corduroy pieces as much as we do and we wish you lots of lovely adventures to enjoy in style! Discover the collection.
