Living Coral - A Color Balance Story!
It's no secret that colors have their own language – they tell stories and evoke feelings. Artists across the years have felt this pull of color. Georgia O’Keefe is said to have famously said, “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way…things I had no words for.”
With that, we set out to find the meaning and attraction behind Living Coral, the designated color of the year and one we are seeing everywhere in fashion, interior design and art. A blend of festive orange and subtle pink, it’s a color that feels lively and bright and nurturing and warm at the same time.
This year, perhaps more than any other, we are seeking balance in our lives – in the form of nature and technology; in building large digital followings to holding on to deep connections with few close friends; and for our children, in offering them skill-building organized activities to letting them enjoy the gift of pure imaginative free play. The list goes on. It’s only fitting then that we are drawn to a color that is both bright and warm, natural and modern, upbeat and muted – a harmonizing act in a topsy turvy world!
Enjoy and be inspired by this vibrant hue in nature, apparel and art! We bring you a selection of the color in children’s art – and present you a lively collection of tops and dresses for your little ones to match the mood and whimsy!
